Translation is the process of transferring meaning from written text from one language into another. The Anglia International Qualification in Applied Translation equips candidates with the skills that will allow them to convey the meaning of the source text accurately in the target language, mirroring the information, ideas, opinions, cultural aspects and register expressed by the author. This is underpinned with a knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a translator and how translation theory and tools can support them in their work.

The Anglia International Qualification in Applied Translation is suitable for speakers of two or more languages, capable of operating at a minimum of CEFR level C1 (Distinction in Anglia Proficiency) in both. Candidates will normally be expected to translate from a source language into their mother tongue (Spanish) as is customary in the workplace.

This qualification consists of two separate and individually marked exams, i.e., the Certificate in Applied Translation and the Anglia Diploma in Applied Translation.

The whole qualification is made up of four units in all, i.e., two to complete the Certificate level and another two for the Diploma level.
